The Atlanta Hawks showed up against their biggest league rival, the New York Knicks when it mattered the most. The Hawks suffered a harsh defeat in the NBA just two days before. They bounced back in style against the Knicks on Wednesday night, beating them by 121-116. Notably, Hawks’ No.1 pick Zaccharie Risacher and superstar Trae Young caught all the attention.
The Knicks suffered a disappointing loss to the Hawks after leading most of the game. They blew away their lead towards the end of the game. Interestingly, Young, who has a vast history with the NY fans, took some time to insult them ‘on their way home.’

The 2021 NBA Playoffs are the reason why Knicks supporters dislike Trae Young. In a first-round series between the fourth-seeded Knicks and the fifth-seeded Hawks, Young led Atlanta to a five-game victory over New York. The three-time All-Star performed admirably with averages of 29.2 points and 9.8 assists per game while shooting 44.1% from the field.

In 2022, Young instructed a fan seated courtside at Madison Square Garden to ‘Hold That L’ during the game. It was one of his few such encounters with Knicks supporters over the years. In his postgame interview, the guard was asked about the jeers he heard and responded that the audience ‘wasn’t even that loud.’ Hence, Trae Young is often called the ‘Villain’ by NBA fans.

The Atlanta Hawks’ No. 1 pick, Zaccharie Risacher, has been making rounds on the internet. This comes after his monstrous performance against the New York Knicks. It seems that the Hawks’ choice to draft Risacher has paid off.
Zaccharie Risacher tallied 33 PTS, 7 REB, 3 AST, 2 BLK & 3 STL tonight, becoming just the 10th rookie in the NBA since at least 1973-74 (when BLK & STL were officially recorded) to finish a game with those minimums and the first rookie since Chris Webber (3/13/94) to do so.

He had seven boards, grabbed three steals, and did not hand the ball over. Risacher completed the game with 33 points on 11-18 shooting and 6-10 from three. It came versus one of the NBA’s top teams. Also, this was the best rookie effort of the season. In support, Hawks star man Trae Young also dropped 23 points on his arch-rivals.
On the other hand, the Knicks weren’t at their best during this game. Their captain, Jalen Brunson, was disappointed with the result. Brunson finished with only four assists, three turnovers, and 21 points on 8 of 18 shooting. This was a poor performance, according to his standards. It remains to be seen how Brunson and his Knicks side bounce back after this loss.
