New York Giants offensive line received Christmas gifts from released quarterback Daniel Jones
Despite leaving the Giants on a sour note, Daniel Jones earned his offensive line's respect and showed gratitude with Christmas gifts, even after his departure.

Even though he is no longer part of the team, Daniel Jones still cares about his New York Giants O-line (Offensive Line). The 27-year-old sent presents to his former teammates to keep the Christmas tradition intact.
On Friday, Giants reporter Jordan Raanan shared that Daniel Jones sent a limited edition bottle of Clase Azul to his former Giants O-Line, who had protected him over the years. It’s unclear how much he spent because the price for Clase Azul tends to vary from $174 to $3000 per bottle.
Jones signed a four-year, $160 million deal with the Giants after leading them to a playoff qualification the season before. He was due $30 million in 2025 and $46.5 million in 2026, but as the organization released him from the team, they had to take on a considerable cap hit of $22.21 million, and the remaining was turned into a signing bonus.
So, technically Jones has enough money to take the Minnesota Vikings’ (his current team) offensive line to an expensive dinner party and will have spares to buy a bottle of Clase Azul for himself.
Daniel Jones with a class move. He may not be the Giants QB anymore but … he sent all the offensive linemen who were on the roster with him a limited edition bottle of Clase Azul.

Jones was benched and released by the Giants last month. He’s on the Vikings practice squad.
Jones isn’t the only quarterback who made their Offensive line happy. Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes sent each of his protectors Rolex watches, Lucchese Boots, Yeti coolers, Oakleys, and Normatec goodies. Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow gifted his O-line Japanese katanas for Christmas.

They are all unique. Each sword comes with its own story, from certain towns or battles. He put them all in a room and had them pick theirs out.
“Joe does a great job at buying gifts…
However, San Francisco 49ers QB Brock Purdy stole the headlines. The last pick of the 2022 NFL Draft gifted his offensive line ten Toyota trucks. Everyone praised Purdy for his generosity but, at the same time, wanted to know the means by which he could afford such expensive cars. Even though he earns just over $920,000 from his rookie contract, Purdy could afford it because of the national contract with Toyota.

Will Daniel Jones ever play in the NFL again?
Jones only recorded one winning season since entering the league back in 2019 with the Giants. However, he gradually began to deteriorate after signing the extension three years later. The following campaigns were filled with injuries and bad performances, which led to his unceremonious departure.

In 69 games, Jones posted a record of 24-44-1. Despite the underwhelming numbers, the 12-2 Vikings and Kevin O’Connell agreed to take a chance on the Duke University alumni. He agreed to play as the backup to Sam Darnold and learn the offense. However, it’s more than likely that Darnold will keep his job unless something drastic takes place, like a serious injury.
So does that mean Jones’ career in the NFL is over? Hardly. The answer lies in Darnold’s contract, which will run out after the 2024 season, and there hasn’t been any news regarding an extension.
The former sixth-overall pick will be in high demand next year and ask for a lot of money, which the Vikings don’t have after WR Justin Jefferson’s new contract. This is where Daniel Jones comes in, who already earns quite a bit from the Giants and will agree to accept the bare minimum.
If O’Connell can get the same productivity out of Jones as Darnold, then they can move him on to another team for high draft picks and hand over the starting quarterback job to JJ McCarthy. The CFP Champion and the 10th overall pick in the 2023 draft is currently in rehab after suffering a torn meniscus in his right knee. By the time McCarthy recovers, he will have seen and learned enough of O’Connell’s system, so making him the quarterback down the line is a no-brainer.
