“Sell the team!” – New York Giants potentially missing out on Shedeur Sanders after shocking win over Colts has fans burning the internet

When the New York Giants welcomed the Indianapolis Colts in the Week 17 matchup, the football world expected the visiting team to win. That win would help the Colts push ahead in their playoff hopes and the home team one step closer to drafting Shedeur Sanders.
A loss against the Colts and then against the Philadelphia Eagles next week would ensure the Giants would stay in last place this season. That meant, an easy hand at picking their next franchise QB from the Colorado Buffaloes.
In the first half, Drew Lock threw three touchdowns to help the New York Giants keep pace with the Colts. In the second half though, the Indianapolis Colts reduced the deficit and brought it down to just two points.
At that stage, football fans felt the visitors were starting to play their way back and win the game. However, Lock kept going, helping Malik Nabers surpass 1,000 yards as a rookie receiver. He also delivered Nabers his second touchdown of the game.
Then on their next drive, they kept the pedal to the metal and this time the journeyman QB ran it in to notch a rushing touchdown. That touchdown score ended up deciding the game as the Colts then turned the ball over twice. The Giants ended up winning 45-33.
With the Giants win today, and one more week to go in the season….

The Patriots currently are scheduled to hold the No. 1 overall pick.
As the final whistle sounded, that loss meant the Indianapolis Colts were eliminated from playoff contention. A massive blow for a team that one week ago was in prime position to reach the postseason. However, football fans were not as worried for the Colts as they were for the Giants.
Fans shake their heads watching New York Giants blow chance to cement 1st overall pick
The New York Giants were heavily touted to draft Shedeur Sanders. GM Joe Schoen and his staff were at the Colorado Buffaloes practice facilities earlier this year. That confirmed the notion that they saw Sanders as their next franchise quarterback. By winning against the Colts, that chance gets seemingly thrown out of the window. Fans knowing that were furious.
They felt that this win jeopardized the team’s future. All they needed to do was stick to the plan and ensure the team had their franchise quarterback come April. Knowing what had transpired they took to social media to vent their frustrations, examples of which are below.

Tanking for draft picks and being mad about wins is how teams lose a winning culture

The New York Giants won their first home game of the season and had players and fans inside MetLife Stadium happy for a great Christmas present.
However, their new reality is that they might miss out on their next QB. That said, the teams picking above them already have answers at quarterback. That leaves them with still a chance to take Sanders or Cam Ward.
