Brazilian star Neymar Jr. made a spectacular return to form by scoring an Olympic-style goal from the corner to help Santos claim a 3-0 victory over Inter de Limeira. His goal came amid circumstances where he was booed by rival fans.
Neymar Jr.‘s decision to return to Brazil to join his boyhood side Santos did leave football fans around the world shocked. He ended his lucrative multi-million contract at Al-Hilal to return to his home country. In six appearances for Santos since then, the Brazilian forward has scored two goals and provided three assists. All of those have come in the Sao Paulo state Campeonato Paulista A1 league.
The 33-year-old veteran most recently scored a goal and provided two assists for Tiquinho Soares in a 3-0 victory over Inter de Limeira. In the 27th minute, Neymar walked over to the right side of the pitch to take a corner. He was jeered on by the rival fans. Responding to the criticism, the ex-PSG star, unaffected, put his hands to his ears to urge the booing fans to be even louder.

Interestingly, the 33-year-old also celebrated his fabulous strike in style, recreating one of Cristiano Ronaldo‘s iconic celebrations. He ran towards the sidelines to sit on an advertising board while cheekily crossing his arms in delight.
Neymar Jr. hints at extended Santos stay beyond current contract
Neymar Jr.’s father recently revealed that the Brazilian icon could extend his stay at his boyhood club Santos beyond the summer. The comments came after the Brazilian scored his first goal for the Brazilian club following his return after 12-long years.

The Brazilian forward joined Santos from Al-Hilal on a five-month-long contract. Neymar’s contract at the Saudi PL club was prematurely terminated owing to persistent injury issues. Neymar Sr. recently revealed that his son is open to extending his stay at his boyhood club and exclaimed that he had not come to Brazil only to play for five months.
Our project is not just for five months, it is a contract that we are considering renewing. We didn’t come here to compete for five months, it was to give Santos the opportunity to restructure itself…
