Neymar lashes out after being criticized for being overweight
Neymar lashes out at fat-shaming supporters after Brazil’s triumph over Chile, citing the fact that he wore a large shirt instead of a medium. After being attacked by fans and the media in France, he has shrugged aside rumors that he is out of shape and overweight.
Neymar’s appearance and conditioning came under intense criticism after a shirtless image of him on a boat circulated online earlier this summer.
Following PSG’s win over Reims last weekend, the French media speculated that Neymar was out of shape, which prompted a reaction from Neymar. In the second half of PSG’s 2-0 triumph against Reims, he was substituted by the Argentine legend Lionel Messi. He has appeared in little over an hour in PSG’s four Ligue 1 matches, missing over 300 minutes of game time.
Neymar said that his current physical look is due to his shirt size. He stated he was wearing a ‘size G’ large shirt instead of his regular ‘M’ medium shirt. He went on to say that before his next match, he will request a medium shirt and added a number of laughing emojis.
I’m at my ideal weight, claims Neymar
Neymar reacted to the Chile encounter on his Instagram Instagram story, saying: “Did we perform admirably? No! Did we come out on top? Yes!”
After that, he addressed the issue of his weight, saying: “I was wearing a size G (large) shirt, and I’m at my ideal weight. I’m going to order an M for the next game.”
Neymar will next feature in Brazil’s World Cup Qualifying encounter against the COPA America Winners and arch-rivals Argentina. It is expected to be a great encounter for the fans as they may witness both the PSG stars facing off against each other. However, Messi’s availability is a concern as he was subjected to a harsh tackle by Venezuela’s Adrian Martinez.
