“They were rooting against us,” Aaron Rodgers reveals the main reason why fans turned against the Packers
The number 1 seeded Green Bay Packers suffered a heartbreaking defeat against the San Francisco 49ers in the divisional playoff final to see their campaign end on a low this season. Following the defeat, all of the talks surrounded Packers’ star quarterback Aaron Rodgers whose record against the 49ers went from bad to worse.
The veteran quarterback is on a 0-4 record against the 49ers, which also includes an NFC title defeat in 2020. However, this time around Rodgers was not picked on for his performance on the pitch, but for something which he had done earlier in the season.
Aaron Rodgers is yet to take the Covid-19 vaccine due to his personal reservations
Aaron Rodgers misled people at the start of the season, to believe that he had taken the Covid-19 vaccine, but the lie became evident to the fans after he tested positive for the virus a few months later.
Fans have given him plenty of slack ever since that and continued the trend after Rodgers’ defeat this weekend. People made themselves heard on the various social media platforms as to how glad they were that the “non-immunized Rodgers had been eliminated.”
However, it appears that Aaron Rodgers has taken notice of all the negative messages aimed at him and spoke about his vaccination status during his weekly appearance on the Pat McAfee Show. He also made it clear why the fans wanted the Green Bay Packers to lose the game against the 49ers.
“There were a ton of people tuning in, rooting against us for one reason and one reason only — it’s because of my vaccination status and them wanting to see us lose so they could pile on,” he said.
