“I should have been more clearer”: Adam Schefter apologizes for his tweet on Deshaun Watson
A total of 10 cases were field against Deshaun. The grand jury, rejected nine of those after which the prosecutors did not even present the 10th. The jury’s decision effectively ended all criminal proceedings in the case. “It’s definitely a very emotional moment for me. I know we’re far from being done of handling what we need to handle on the legal side, but today is definitely a big day,” Watson told reporters.
“I thank my lord and savior Jesus Christ for letting the truth be heard. And I thank everyone that was a part of this for seeing and hearing both sides. That’s what my point and my team wanted to do, is have a fair slate of us telling our side of the story and letting the conclusion come to what happened today, and that’s what the grand jury decided on,” he stated.
After the jury’s decision, Adam Schefter took to Twitter to hail Deshaun which apparently didn’t go down well with a lot of people. “This is why Deshaun Watson, from the beginning, welcomed a police investigation: He felt he knew that the truth would come out. And today, a grand jury did not charge him on any of the criminal complaints,” Adam had tweeted.
As a result, he was slammed by Twitteratis with many asking him to delete the tweet.
After facing backlash, Adam took to Twitter again to issue an apology saying that he did not use the right words to convey the information and added that he should have been more clearer.
