NFL analyst makes case for Mike McCarthy as a “great fit” for NFC minnows amid exit rumors from Cowboys
If the Jerry Jones decides to move on from Mike McCarthy then FS1's Joy Taylor believes he should move to Chicago to coach the Bears.

In Caleb Williams’ first year with the Chicago Bears, the NFC North team saw both head coach and offensive coordinator leave midway through the season and are in the hunt for a suitable replacement. FOX Sports’ Joy Taylor believes Mike McCarthy would be the perfect fit for the job.
The 2024 season went horribly wrong for the Dallas Cowboys. Injuries to key players and bad signings in the off-season led to the Cowboys missing out on a playoff spot for the first time since 2020 (McCarthy’s first season in Dallas).
With just one game left until the season ends, McCarthy’s aware that it might well be his final dance with the Cowboys.
Jerry Jones holds all the power in his hands as the Cowboys’ owner/general manager and there’s a growing narrative that the reverse fixture against the Washington Commanders at AT&T Stadium will be his final game for the Dallas. If so, one team might make a move for the 61-year-old in the off-season.
FOX’s Joy Taylor believes Chicago Bears are a perfect fit for Mike McCarthy
It’s not often teams line up at the door of a coach right after his cut from the team. Even 8x Super Bowl champion Bill Belichick went jobless after leaving the New England Patriots in 2024. However, McCarthy might find it easier to bag his next job according to FOX Sports Speak contributor Joy Taylor.
Taylor further argued that if McCarthy can churn out three 12-5 seasons in a row with Jerry Jones as the boss then he can turn around a 4-12 Chicago Bears franchise with a superstar young quarterback in Caleb Williams, who would have one year under his belt by the time he relocates to the windy city.

On the flip side, the Cowboys remain undecided about McCarthy. According to McCarthy, he hasn’t had any conversation with the Cowboys board about his future.
Mike McCarthy: "We have not had conversations and I do just anticipate that we'll stay on a schedule that's similar to what we've done in the past. That would mean we would start our meetings next week and go through the evaluation process." https://t.co/5VX8HvNqj0

McCarthy’s contract with the Cowboys ends on January 14th. If he were to remain in Dallas, then Jones must strike while the iron is hot.
