“I love Brady, he’s my guy”: Antonio Brown claims Tom Brady is a true FRIEND who always stands by him in the midst of adversity
Antonio Brown and Tom Brady
Antonio Brown has been in the limelight, mostly for the wrong reasons. Not long ago, he pulled out the biggest stunt of his career during the Bucs game against the Jets. In the third quarter of the contest, Brown completely lost his cool and tossed his T-shirt and gloves into the crowd, and ran towards the sidelines shirtless.
After his act, Antonio was kicked out of the Bucs’ camp. After staying quiet for a while, Antonio, in a lengthy post, gave the explanation for the meltdown in which he accused the franchise of forcing him to play with an ankle injury. He even said a few things about Tom Brady, a man who is known for always supporting Antonio.
“Don’t get it twisted”: Antonio Brown says Tom Brady is one of his best friends
Talking about his relationship with Brady, Antonio had made a few points on The Full Send Podcast not long ago. “To me, a friend is someone who’s got your back,” Brown had said about Tom. “Not everybody in sports is going to be your friend. Tom Brady’s my friend why? Because I’m a good football player. He needs me to play football,” he added.
However, taking a U-turn on what he had said, Brown, in interaction with TMZ Sports claimed that his words were taken out of context. He added that Tom is actually someone who has always supported him during adverse circumstances.
“Listen, I love Tom. That’s my guy. Don’t get it twisted. A lot of words were taken out of substance. Tom is one of my true friends in the midst of adversity that was there for me, so don’t get it twisted about nothing with Tom Brady,” Antonio claimed.
Brown went on to add that Brady is actually the greatest football player of all time. “He’s a G.O.A.T. Great player. Great teammate,” he said. With his future in the NFL hanging in limbo, it will be interesting to see if he can still find a way of making things right.
