In what comes as tragic news, Arizona Cardinals cornerback Jeff Gladney has passed away at the tender age of 25. The TCU standout was killed in a car accident on the Woodall Rodgers Freeway in Dallas.

Dallas Police reported that the crash occured at about 2.30 A.M on Monday, and left two fatalities including Jeff Gladney and a woman, according to various sources. The news comes in at the worst possible time for all of his fans and followers around the world.

Gladney had recently started to turn things around for himself professionally as he signed a contract with the Arizona Cardinals this March, after being acquitted from felony assault. He was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the 2020 NFL draft, but the spell ended following the accusations of domestic violence.

Immediately after the news of his death broke out, his current and former franchise released statements in honour of the highly talented cornerback. The Cardinals said that losing Gladney was a tremendous loss, while the Vikings sent out their well wishes for everyone associated with the player.

“We are devastated to learn of Jeff Gladney’s passing,” the Arizona Cardinals said in a statement. “Our hearts go out to his family, friends and all who are mourning this tremendous loss.”

“We are saddened by the tragic death of former Viking Jeff Gladney,” the Vikings said in a statement. “Our hearts go out to his family and friends, as well as the Arizona Cardinals organization and Jeff’s current and former teammates and coaches who are mourning his life lost much too soon.”

Jeff Gladney started 15 games his rookie season for the Minnesota Vikings and collected 81 total tackles, three passes defensed and one forced fumble.
