Pittsburg Steelers’ veteran quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will probably play the final match of what has been a long and distinguished career when his side takes on the Kansas City Chiefs. The two sides will face off in the playoffs after the Steelers managed a dramatic entry in the final stages of the regular season.
However, despite having made it into the playoffs, Ben Roethlisberger knows that the difference between his side and the Kansas City Chiefs is a huge one. The Chiefs are overwhelming favourites to win the tie, and the Steelers are nothing but underdogs.
Ben Roethlisberger is all set to play his final match of his career against the Chiefs
“I would assume, as a group, you understand that we probably aren’t supposed to be here. We probably are not a very good football team. Out of 14 teams I think are in, we’re probably number 14,” he said.
The 39-year old reckoned that he does not care about the result of the match as long as he and his side enjoyed themselves out on the pitch.
“We’re probably 20 point underdogs [actually 11.5, per Tipico] and we’re going to the No. 1 team, I know they’re not the No. 1 seed but they’ve won the AFC the last two years,” the veteran quarterback said as he wrapped up his news conference. “We don’t have a chance. So let’s just go in and have fun.”
Having said that, it could also be a case of Ben Roethlisberger playing a few ming games with the Kansas City Chiefs, who are expected to win either way and just get them to relax a bit too much.
