Bill Belichick continues NFL Scouting Combine tradition as Patriots become sole team to miss the event

Bill Belichick will continue his tradition of not attending the NFL Scouting combine event which will be held from the 1st of March to the 7th of the month. The NFL scouting combine is an event where the head coaches or a personnel executive from the various NFL teams answers questions from non-team-based reporters from media headquarters.
Although it is not compulsory for teams to attend or send in a representative for the event, the NFL encourages them to attend them but it seems Patriots coach Bill Belichick is not a fan of it.
Bill Belichick last attended the NFL scouting Combine way back in 2014
In fact, New England Patriots would be the only side to not have a representative for the NFL combine next month. The reason for Belichick’s absence from this year’s NFL combine can be attributed to the recent controversy which the coach found himself into with the Brian Flores incident.
ESPN staff writer, Mike Reiss pointed out the fact that Bill Belichick last appeared in such an event back in 2014 and that his responses that day might have given everyone an indication as to his future plans.
That day, Bill Belichick shared a detailed perspective on how the combine has evolved over his 30-plus years attending, then answered questions about his coaching staff, personnel decisions, and big-picture topics such as the value of the three-cone drill and nuances of player evaluation.
The NFL Scouting Combine is set to take place at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana and will end on the 7th of March.
