“Massive change of heart” – Bills defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier reveals how to improve the biased hiring process of coaches

Eight days ago, the Brain Flores lawsuit against the NFL just added two more plaintiffs. The new allegations came from former Titans coach Mike Mularkey, who admitted to getting the job as a result of a sham interview process.
Meet the Press Reports, a production of NBC News has taken a closer look at the situation. The episode includes comments from Hall of Fame coach Tony Dungy, former Raiders and Browns coach Hue Jackson, and Bills defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier.
Leslie Frazier talks about the discrimination by team owners against minority coaches
Leslie Frazier who is currently employed by the Buffalo Bills candidly spoke about the issue that could have a serious impact on his career in the league. “There has to be a massive change of heart with ownership in order for this to be rectified. Because at the end of the day, it’s only the owners that can change this. It’s not the Commissioner . . . it’s not committees. It’s the decision makers,” Frazier said.
Frazier is 100 percent right in saying so. The sport is run by billionaire guys that are used to getting their own way but no more. There should be a tolerance level and owners should be kept in check regarding their actions. The league has been overflowed with controversies that include owners harassing the women staff and the hiring of the minority coaching staff.
Maybe the verdict should be ruled in favor of Brian Flores which is bound to get the owner’s attention. Tony Dungy had an amazing thought that could get the owner’s attention. “I think the players need to hold the league accountable . . . and those African American players go in and say, ‘Hey Mr. Owner, you need to do a thorough search. And you need to consider strongly these African American coaches . . . not telling you who to hire, but if you don’t consider them then I don’t want to play here.” . . . That’s going to get the owners’ attention,” Dungy says.
Something needs to happen and it needs to happen fast. Nothing has been able to get the owners to change their orthodox thinking regarding the hiring of minority coaches. Until the owners have a “change of heart” nothing will change.
