The Buffalo Bills are heading into the 2022 season with high expectations. The Bills are favored to be the Super Bowl champs and their signal-caller, Josh Allen is heavily favored to be the MVP.

These high expectations stem from Allen’s performance in the Bills’ overtime loss against Kansas City Chiefs. The Bills’ quarterback was seen in an entirely different light as he continued to be a headache to the Chiefs’ defense both as a passer and runner. This matchup also gave rise to the creation of new OT rules because of the backlash the league received after the matchup which resulted in the Chiefs’ victory.

Buffalo Bills tight end Dawson Knox joined SiriusXM NFL Radio where he had a candid conversation about the team’s mindset going into the season with the pressure of winning the Super Bowl and how it feels to play for one of the best QBs of the younger generation, Josh Allen. “I mean, it’s every receiver, tight end, running back, it’s everyone’s dream to play with a guy like that,” Knox said.

“I mean, he can put the ball 70 yards down the field, or throw off his back foot back across himself, or make plays with his legs and extend plays. There’s nothing that guy can’t do. We’ve seen him stiff arm defensive ends to the ground. He’s jumping over linebackers, and just trucking guys. It’s insane. We’re trying to tell him to slide more often, but with the way he runs the ball, it’s hard to tell him to go down when he can make crazy plays with his feet too. But he’s another guy that everyone loves off the field as well. He’s a perfect leader for us, he’s not necessarily the rah-rah guy in the locker room, but the way he plays and the way he leads by example is second to none.”

Josh Allen ended the 2021 season with 409 completions for 4,407 yards with 36 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. His performance in the postseason was so electrifying that he broke the highest-ever postseason passer rating (149.0)of 146.4 held by legendary QB Joe Montana in 1989. While Allen wasn’t “NFL ready” when he was drafted seventh overall in 2018 by the Bills, he has come a long way now.

Buffalo certainly has a Super Bowl squad ready to go. Aside from Allen’s MVP capabilities, the team’s wide receiving core is led by Stefon Diggs along with rising star Gabriel Davis who impressed everyone in the league last year. After the addition of Super Bowl 50 MVP Von Miller, the Bills’ defense has also risen significantly. The Bills have no other choice but to win the Lombardi Trophy given the roster. Let’s see whether they manage to beat out the best teams in the league and win the Super Bowl or not.
