Black Friday will witness the rivalry between the worst team in the league going up against the best at Arrowhead Stadium on Friday, November 29. 10-1 Kansas City Chiefs will host the 2-9 Las Vegas Raiders in freezing temperatures.
The Raiders head coach, Antonio Pierce, confided the Chiefs are the best team in football, but like all the previous iterations of the Chiefs-Raiders, he vowed to make life hell for Andy Reid’s team.
Let’s call a spade a spade. The best team in football against the worst team in football. Let’s change the narrative, right? Let’s go out there and make it a dogfight. Let’s make it ugly… [and] scrappy. It’s Black Friday. Let’s create a little chaos [and] get back to Raider football and have some fun and some personality. Let it loose.
Antonio Pierce said recently
Pierce’s Raiders are on a seven-game losing streak after suffering a 29-19 loss to divisional rivals the Denver Broncos in Week 12. On top of it, they lost quarterback Gardner Minshew for the rest of the campaign after he broke his collarbone. Aidan O’Connell, who has been on IR since losing to the Rams, will return to face the Chiefs.
As for the Chiefs, they returned to winning ways after defeating the Carolina Panthers. However, it took a Spence Shrader field goal to record a 30-27 victory. Shrader will miss the Raiders fixture due to hamstring issues, giving room for veteran kicker Matthew Wright.
The Chiefs are in a position to secure a firm grip on the #1 seed in the AFC by beating the Raiders. Yet, the Raiders have a history of spoiling the fun for the Patrick Mahomes and party. Last year, they met each other in Kansas City during Christmas, and Mahomes threw a late interception and ended up on the losing side (20-14).

Why the Las Vegas Raiders can win?
The Chiefs lead the NFL in wins, but lately, they are showing signs of fatigue and carelessness. Reid’s team has been among the worst at giving away penalties in the last five games. Penalties played a major role in their first defeat of the season in Week 11 (against the Buffalo Bills).
Aidan O’Connell played in the Christmas fixture last year, which the Raiders won, and they have nothing to lose besides pride as the postseason is out of the question. So, Pierce must play free-flowing football to ruin Black Friday for the reigning Super Bowl champions.
Why the Kansas City Chiefs can win?
Patrick Mahomes went through a slump in the early season. At one point, he had more interceptions than touchdowns. However, the 3x Super Bowl winner has shown urgency after their bye week. In the last three games, Mahomes has seven touchdowns and just two picks.
Running back Kareem Hunt remains crucial to the Chiefs offense. Hunt has 155 carries in 2024 for 577 yards and five touchdowns. On the other hand, superstar Travis Kelce’s underwhelming season continues, but his fellow tight end Noah Gray is going through a career year. He scored a combined four touchdowns in the last two games and will be one of the main targets for Mahomes to find in the endzone.
The Raiders and the Chiefs met earlier in the season in Week 8, which ended in a 20-28 defeat for Pierce’s team. Kelce scored one of his two touchdowns in the fixture.
