“I should be No.1” – Browns DE Myles Garrett feels he has earned the top spot in NFL’s elite Top 100 players list, says no other players possess his skillset

NFL Network has announced its Top 100 players in the league. However, everyone is eager to learn the names of the Top 20 players which will be released on Sunday.
Cleveland Browns defensive end, Myles Garrett feels that he should be ranked the best meaning the No.1 in this exclusive list. Garrett said that he would definitely put himself at the top of the list when asked about where he would rank himself.

Myles Garrett was selected first overall by the Browns in the 2017 NFL draft. The 26-year-old defensive end quickly rose to fame and upheld the tag of No.1 pick. He has been a complete beat on the field and led the Browns’ defense in clutch moments. Despite shortcomings at the QB position in Cleveland, Garrett has been a monumental piece in leading his team to victory. In 2021, he had an extremely productive season with 16 sacks and 51 tackles, both career highs.
“I think I should be one, but I mean, I’m not voting,” Garrett said about his standings in the NFL’s Top 100 list. “Where do I expect myself? Somewhere in the Top 20. I don’t want to rate myself. I’m not sure.” Garrett is aware that he won’t be at the top of the list but one can dream. He further added that he doesn’t like being compared to other players in the league.
“I don’t like to compare myself to anyone, just because I think I have a lot of different things that I bring to the table, and I don’t think anyone has the particular set of skills I have,” Garrett said. The only defensive player who has been at the No.1 position is J.J. Watt back in 2015. Even Aaron Donald, who is considered to be among the best defensive players, hasn’t featured at the top.
And it is really tough for someone like Myles Garrett to be at the top given the season some of the other players have had. Los Angeles Rams wideout Cooper Kupp had nothing short of a magical season. He won the receiving triple crown along with the Super Bowl and Super Bowl MVP all in one season. Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers had another amazing season and won back-to-back MVPs. It’s hard to say which player will be the best in the league for the 2021 season. It’s going to be a treat to see the rankings on Sunday and it can’t come fast enough!
