Deshaun Watson has made a name for himself at the highest level. The QB who will now play for the Cleveland Browns played college football at Clemson. He successfully led his team to a national championship win back in 2016.

However, Watson has been at the center of a huge controversy in recent times. A lawsuit was filed against him by 22 women who accused him of harassment and sexual assault. Although a grand jury had declined to indict him in the case a while ago, he is still under NFL’s investigation.

Talking about the same, Browns owner Jimmy Haslam had a few things to say to the media over a zoom call. He claimed that more people are renewing tickets than canceling after they acquired Deshaun. “We haven’t seen numbers the last couple of days, the last time we looked, and it’s a little misleading because the renewal date I think ends either today or next Friday and so there’s a rush but it appears there are way more people renewing than canceling tickets,” he claimed.

Dee and Jimmy Haslam spoke with the media a little while after Watson’s first Browns press conference. “But we do respect individuals that have strong feelings. We understand those feelings,” Dee added. “I think we got comfortable in the legal process,” Dee added.

I mean, if you follow the legal process, we have to trust in the legal process. So I think that’s what we did, is we trusted the process, and then, again, learning more and more details about Deshaun as a person, we felt good about Deshaun as a person. Two different grand juries in two different counties looked at nine different criminal cases and decided not to move forward,” Jimmy stated.
