“I’d anticipate him to become a HC soon,” Bruce Arians makes a bold prediction on Byron Leftwich
Former Buccaneers head coach, Bruce Arians lavished his franchise’s offensive coordinator, Byron Leftwich with high praise ahead of the 2022 NFL season. Leftwich will continue at his role with the Buccaneers after it almost emerged that he had taken up a head coach position at the Jacksonville Jaguars.
However the move to the Jaguars fell through at the last moment and he decided to stay on with the Buccaneers for another season. Bruce Arians felt that it was time Byron Leftwich was given as much credit for the Buccaneers’ offensive plays as is given to the likes of Tom Brady and him.
Bruce Arians feels Byron Leftwich will become a head coach soon in the NFL
“I get credit and Brady gets way too much credit for what Byron does with our offense,” Arians told Arizona Sports 98.7 FM. “One of the reasons I hope he gets all the credit he deserves this year is to get a coaching gig; you know, he had about four or five teams real interested last year.
Continuing on his praise for his former colleague he felt that Leftwich will become a head coach soon enough even though he missed the chance to go to the Jaguars this season. “I would anticipate him to be a head coach real fast,” said Arians.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are undergoing a change of leadership as their head coach Bruce Arians announced his retirement last week. This has given their former defensive coordinator Todd Bowles the chance to take up the vacant head coach position.
Tom Brady has returned for another season in the NFL, and will boost the Buccaneers chances of mounting a challenge for the Super Bowl this year. Byron Leftwich and Brady will have to carry the bulk of the offensive play ideas for the upcoming season in the absence of Bruce Arians.
