Tom Brady announced his return to the NFL, a couple of weeks ago after 40 days of his retirement. The news came in as music to the ears of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers franchise, who will welcome him back into their setup as the primary quarterback for another season.
After failing to reach the Super Bowl last year, Tom Brady had announced his retirement from the game in order to spend more time with his family. This move from the quarterback set the cat among the pigeons within the Buccaneers camp, who had to look for other quarterback options to lead the side for the upcoming season.

Buccaneers coach, Bruce Arians acknowledged the fact that they were in dire need of a quarterback for the upcoming season if Brady had not returned from retirement. The veteran coach said that they would have uncovered as many stones as they possibly could, to bring in a replacement for Tom Brady, if he stuck to his decision of not playing in the NFL anymore.
“We had started to uncover as many stones as we possibly could,” Arians told NFL Network’s Steve Wyche during an interview at the Annual League Meeting.
“We would’ve turned over every stone. … Jason did his calls. We were in the midst of all that stuff when Tom decided to come back and thank God we could say, ‘No thanks, brother. We’re out of it.,” concluded Bruce Arians on Brady’s dramatic return to the NFL.
According to Bruce Arians, Buccaneers General manager, Jason Licht had already made approaches to sign a quarterback but the duo heaved a sigh of relief when they learnt about the return of Brady.
The Buccaneers will now be hoping that Brady’s return sparks them on to make the Super Bowl once again this year, after narrowly missing out on an appearance last year.
