Aaron Rodgers has placed some high demands on the Green Bay Packers. According to reports, Rodgers wants to become the highest-paid quarterback in the NFL and had demanded a $50 million wage bill.
Currently, the highest-paid quarterback in the NFL is Matt Ryan of the Atalanta Falcons who earns $48.6 million a season. He signed a 5 year deal with the Falcons in 2018 for $150 million.

With Aaron Rodgers demanding such high wages, he has come under some serious criticism from NFL pundits. According to Chris Broussard, if Aaron Rodgers wants to earn that much he has to tell why he hasn’t appeared in a Superbowl for the last eleven years.
“If Aaron Rodgers wants to be the highest-paid player in the league by a large margin then that may tell us why he hasn’t played in a Super Bowl in 11 years — his priority is not winning. He should get paid. But he wants $50M/yr? That’s ridiculous,” he said.
Moreover, Nick Wright says that if Aaron Rodgers is thinking about earning that sort of money, he’s going to be leaving the Green Bay Packers. Wright says that at this point in time, Rodgers should be focused on getting another Superbowl appearance rather than the extra $10-12 million.
“If he wants this money, he’s leaving. And I have two major takeaways. One is, I’m really surprised that Aaron Rodgers, at this point in his career, would be prioritizing an extra 10 or $12 million over an extra Super Bowl appearance. You know, to give yourself the best chance to get there. And my other takeaway is this and this is the one you’d like your response to among everything else. I don’t think Aaron Rodgers should be the highest-paid quarterback in football,” he said on First Things First.
“I don’t think he’s earned that. I think he should be one of the highest-paid. But when I look around the league, I don’t, not after this last few playoff runs. I don’t look at Aaron Rogers as the best quarterback in football, even if you remove the fact that he’s damn near 40. So I think it’s bad news for his Packers future. I think it’s bad news for his chance to win another Super Bowl. And I think it’d be bad business to give him, to make Aaron Rodgers the faraway Highest-Paid player.”
