Tom Brady has a full-time job in the NFL as FOX Sports’ lead analyst. As part of his job, he gets to discuss the games he covers, offering insights stemming from his extensive experience as a player.

When he signed the $375 million deal, fans were ecstatic that they would get to hear from a player who had spent 23 seasons in the league. Additionally, he could leverage his experience winning seven Super Bowls to reveal what it truly takes to win.

Things took a turn when he also purchased a 5% stake in the Las Vegas Raiders. Fellow team owners expressed concerns about how he would stay unbiased.

He was cleared after he, FOX Sports, and the NFL agreed to guidelines on what he cannot say. Those assurances turned on their head when Tom Brady was pictured sitting alongside the Raiders’ coaches in their booth during their loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.

Since then, rumors have been floating around that this time, not only were other team owners angry, but rivaling networks also raised concerns about the 7-time Super Bowl champion’s integrity. Soon, the NFL stepped in.

There are no policies that prohibit an owner from sitting in the coaches’ booth or wearing a headset during a game. Brady was sitting in the booth in his capacity as a limited partner. Brady was sitting in the booth in his capacity as a limited partner.

Tom Pelissero quoted the NFL’s statement

This essentially clears the 48-year-old of any wrongdoing, as he was within the regulations set by the league. The problem is, along with being a limited partner, Tom Brady‘s role as FOX’s broadcaster has caused some confusion.

NFL clarifies Tom Brady’s restrictions as FOX broadcaster and Raiders’ minority owner

Other owners may believe that Tom Brady is providing the Las Vegas Raiders with information that would not be available to others. However, the NFL, in its statement as received by Tom Pelissero, clarifies the scope the father of three can work with.

Tom continues to be prohibited from going to a team facility for practices or production meetings. He may attend production meetings remotely, but may not attend in person at the team facility or hotel. He may also conduct an interview off-site with a player, like he did last year a couple of times, including for the Super Bowl.

League statement clarifies

What this means is that the meetings he has with the Raiders’ offensive coordinator, Chip Kelly, as well as any meetings with team personnel, must be done off-site.

The league might have done its due diligence before clearing the three-time league MVP. After all, this situation has led to a lot of furor about his dual role.

NFL not behind Tom Brady flag football tournament in Riyadh

Yesterday, Tom Brady sent the internet into a frenzy when he revealed that he would be coming out of retirement to play flag football at the 2026 Riyadh Season.

He will be playing alongside quite a few NFL stars and coaches as they look to cash in on the growing popularity of flag football. However, the NFL has no hand in this tournament.

Fanatics made us aware of the event but this is not a league initiative. It’s up to the individual clubs to provide clearance for their active players to participate.

NFL statement to Tom Pelissero

This means that this tournament is a collaboration between Fanatics and Saudi Arabia, as the players involved are mostly tied to the former in some capacity. Therefore, anything arising from it is not the league’s responsibility.
