“He left more on the table” – Colin Cowherd compares the careers of Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers and feels ‘this’ QB didn’t measure up to his standards

Colin Cowherd, Aaron Rodgers and Brett Favre
For the past three decades, the Green Bay Packers have been home to two of the greatest football players in the history of the NFL, Brett Favre, and Aaron Rodgers. Favre led the Packers for 16 seasons (1992-2007) and Rodgers for 17 seasons (2008-present).
During their decades-long career with the Packers, both QBs have established their dominance in the league and garnered the respect of everyone. However, which of these two Packers legends has had the better career is something every NFL fan is eager to learn. And the answer awaits below!
Aaron Rodgers’s performance in 2022 won’t be the same as last year’s

During the Packers’ minicamp practice, Aaron Rodgers opened up about his longtime friend and teammate, Davante Adams leaving Green Bay. Rodgers said it was his uncertainty of playing another season and Adams’s relationship with Derek Carr that sealed the decision for him to leave Green Bay. The Packers’ QB has three years left on his contract and his latest statement hints toward Rodgers maybe retiring after the 2022 season but he made sure to stress the point that he will be retiring as a Packer.
On The Herd with Colin Cowherd, the named host came up with a brilliant idea to compare the careers of Favre and Rodgers and decide once and for all which one of them is the better QB in Packers history. Cowherd confessed that he is more of a Rodgers fan than Favre but also pointed out that in the end “all the pretty doesn’t matter, it’s about W (wins).”
“Aaron was MVP last year. So, let’s say he plays one more year in Green Bay and then retires. So, I’m gonna take 10% off last year’s production. Why? No Davante Adams, he’s got four new receivers, his history lets you he will take a while to get it going. And it also looks like if you look at the way the team is building they’re going to be a little more run-centric less Aaron-driven next year,” Cowherd said.
Colin’s prediction of Rodgers’ 2022 season has him winning 12 games in total and 5 losses with a completion percentage of 62.0, 33-5 TD-INT, and 203 passing yards per game. “I don’t think he will duplicate last year’s MVP season,” Cowherd added. “So then he retires. Remember Aaron played in a more QB-friendly NFL than Favre and a more offensive friendly.”
Aaron Rodgers | Brett Favre | |
151-71-1 | W-L | 186-112 |
63.7 | Comp Pct | 62.4 |
482-98 | TD-Int | 508-336 |
228.7 | Pass YPG | 237.9 |
97.8 | Passer Rtg | 86.0 |
“Here’s what really interesting. Aaron wins the pretty stuff. Passers rating, fewer INTs but Favre wins more, Favre threw for more TDs, Favre averaged more passing yards, and if you include their playoffs,” Cowherd continued. “It’s funny if you look at the two, Aaron is the prettier. He’ll end up with more MVPs and a higher passer rating. Favre, more Super Bowls, more TD passes, better playoff win percentage, fewer injuries, more available.”

If we consider Colin’s predictions which are not that far off the mark, Brett Favre has achieved more than Aaron Rodgers despite playing in a non-QB-friendly environment. Rodgers might’ve won numerous MVPs and other records in the NFL but the most important thing that matters is the Super Bowl. Favre has been to two winning one of the encounters and Rodgers, on the other hand, has only managed to reach one Super Bowl in his 17-year-long career. “I think Aaron left more on the table if he were to retire after next year,” Cowherd concluded. Let’s see if Aaron Rodgers is able to prove Colin wrong or not!
