“You can put the things together now”: Colin Cowherd says Tom Brady joined the Bucs only because the Brian Flores lawsuit left Dolphins in a mess
Tom Brady and Brian Flores
Tom Brady announced his shocking return to the NFL just 40 days after initially retired, saying he had more unfinished business with football. It is certain that Tom Brady will play for the Buccaneers in 2022 but earlier, there were rumors of him playing for the Miami Dolphins.
Such speculations originally came to light during Brady’s retirement when it was rumored that the Dolphins would go after Sean Payton and Brady in a tandem move. Moreover, not long ago, another NFL executive said the same thing to The Athletic’s Mike Sando but for the next season.
“Tom Brady has had a relationship with Sean Payton for 20 years”: Colin Cowherd
According to the executive, Tom Brady and Sean Payton will be with the Miami Dolphins next year in case Brady decides not to continue his contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Talking about the same, Colin Cowherd made a few points on “Herd w/Colin Cowherd.”
“I didn’t buy this story initially, I thought it was a bunch of rumors but it appears to be a real bombshell,” Colin said, adding that he doesn’t buy into ‘Brady appreciating Arians on Instagram and Arians saying I was going to retire anyway bullsh*t anymore.’
“Essentially, Brady has had a relationship with Sean Payton for 20 years, they have got the same agent. They were gonna go to Miami and Brady was gonna be part owner. He would only go if he got a legitimate veteran coach and it was gonna be Sean Payton, Colin said.
“But then the Brian Flores situation happened, the lawsuit against the Dolphins and other teams. Brady and Payton said we are not going there, it’s a mess. When the Brady-Dolphins situation imploded, suddenly he went to the English Premier League to Manchester Utd game, that was weird, we have never seen him there in 25 years,” he claimed.
“Now we know why, Man Utd is owned by the Glazer family who owns the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Tom Brady flew over, met with the Glazer family, and said, ‘Listen, here’s the story but I’ll come back but I’ll make a couple of changes upstairs and suddenly Tom unretires and Bruce Arians moves upstairs,” Colin further added.
