The New Orleans Saints and the Philadelphia Eagles entered into a unique form of deal wherein they didn’t trade players but only draft picks. It’s quite an unconventional agreement which both teams agreed to on Monday.
As per the terms of the agreement, the New Orleans Saints will be receiving 2022 first-round pick (No. 16),2022 first-round pick (No. 19) and the 2022 sixth-round pick (No. 194). In return the Eagles will be getting 2022 first-round pick (No. 18),2022 third-round pick (No. 101),2022 seventh-round pick (No. 237) and 2023 first-round pick2024 second-round pick.

Now obviously as this deal has been concluded, there have been discussions on which team benefitted more from this deal. Some say the Eagles might be at an advantage point given the future picks.
NFL insider Colin Cowherd has made a sarcastic comment targetted towards the Philadelphia Eagles on Twitter. Colin Cowherd said that this arrangement with the Saints would be even more beneficial for the Eagles if they actually knew how to do the ‘drafting thing’.
“I think the @Eagles “winning” a trade for more picks w the Saints, would be even cooler, if the Eagles were great at the drafting thing,” he tweeted on Tuesday.
Some of the fans responded to his tweet. One fan wrote in reply-“The #saints are gonna eat ass next year and have a tough schedule. That pick will be around #5-#7 overall in ‘23. Be even crazier when the #eagles trade down from #15 and PIT gets #saints Future QB and birds get their guy at #20 anyway.”
Another thinks it’s a deal which is in favour of the Philadelphia Eagles. “Just highway robbery what the Eagles did to the Saints….still have 4 1st round picks between this year and next, added a 2nd and 3rd round and one of the 1st round picks next year is the Saints…that pick could be inside the top 10.”
