“F**k all the coaching” – Comedian Josh Adams hilariously roasts Lions HC Dan Campbell on his physique with a blatant ‘special teams’ comment

In the latest episode of Hard Knocks, the Detroit Lions invited a special guest to their training camp amidst all the preseason action. Motown-based comedian Josh Adams made his special appearance in the Lions’ team activity meeting and had fun at the expense of head coach Dan Campbell and other stars of the Lions’ roster.

Coach Campbell wanted to lighten up everyone’s mood before facing the Indianapolis Colts last Saturday. Judging by their 27-26 close victory over the Colts, it seems that bringing in Josh Adams for a few jokes was quite beneficial for the team.

Josh Admas’ standup act was featured on HBO’s Hard Knock and his roast of Dan Campbell was applauded by players and fans alike. “I didn’t know Coach was that big, damn,” Adams said of Campbell. “We need you on special teams, f— all the coaching. We need you out there breaking up the wedge, fam. He walked up to me big as s— talking about ‘how you doing?’ I’m like what the f—, when did Hulk Hogan start coaching.”

Adams also poked fun at Campbell by stating his up-downs during training camp and impersonated the head coach which had players laughing their guts out. “Doing them half up-downs, them last six didn’t count,” Adams joked. “I seen them. Them wasn’t no up-downs. You was down there doing yoga. That was a downward dog. Get your a– down there like everybody else, let that chest hit the ground, Coach.”

The 46-year-old coach was very much impressed by Adams and didn’t mind being the butt of all jokes that evening. “It’s one of those things. It breaks the monotony,” Campbell said. “We had a little bit of time and at times, everything can be so serious and to just have a little laughter with the guy next to you, I think goes a long way and the guys can appreciate it … It just lightens the mood.”

The Detriot Lions have been in a pretty bad slump for the past decade. They haven’t been able to cross the first threshold of playoffs despite many attempts. Their last playoff appearance was in 2016, with Matthew Stafford at QB and they lost in the wild-card round itself. And this year, it seems the Lions have had enough of being the worst team in the league and decided to change their fate. Their training camp sessions have shown extreme hard work everyone is putting in and coach Dan Campbell is extra motivated and his discussions with the teams have been evidence of that. Let’s hope, the Lions have a turnaround year this season!
