Jordan Davis for Georgia

Jordan Davis put the world on notice at the NFL Scouting Combine this year. To be fair, he came into the event pretty well known. it’s not often that 6’6″, 341-pound humans go unnoticed.

For obvious reasons, Jordan Davis was all that anyone wanted to see when it came to the defensive linemen at the Scouting Combine. He has unbelievable size and as we now know, unbelievable athleticism. Davis ran the 40-yard dash in a blistering 4.78 seconds, shattering records.

It was the fastest 40-yard dash by anyone weighing above 300 pounds since 2006. Along with that, he had a fluid broad jump of 10’3″, another record for anyone weighing more than 300 pounds. He came in proved that he isn’t just a big human, he’s a true athlete.

Darius Butler joined ‘The Pat McAfee Show’ where he was quoted saying “That’s probably the most impressive combine performance I’ve ever seen. A dude weighing 341 with a 1.68 10 yard split and 4.7 40, that’s nuts. He made some money for sure. That whole defense(Georgia) they were studs all year long and they went out and put on a show.”

Pat McAfee also lauded Davis saying “He’s awesome. His broad jump too, he’s very comfortable. He had the longest broad jump of anyone over 300 pounds in history and he’s 41 pounds over 300 pounds.”

Jordan Davis is an absolute impact player out on the field. Even before the combine, he was projected to be a first-round player for his measurables alone. Now combine that with proven athleticism? He may have gotten some coaches wanting him to go top 5. Only time will tell how this one pans out for him.
