NFL draft expert reveals what makes a WR top draft pick

The National Football League NFL draft is the league’s biggest player recruitment event. It is an annual meeting which had started in the year 1936 and has been going on ever since. In the current format players who have been out of high school for atleast three are also eligible for the NFL draft.

The selection order for the draft is decided on each team’s win–loss record in the last season and whether or not the team reached the playoffs. Teams that did not reach the playoffs in the previous season are ranked in reverse order of their records which means they will get the first pick.

Dave Pasch talks about the common traits of a WR receiver pick in the NFL draft

“I would backed and looked at wide outs in the last couple of years and I’ve tried to find out what’s that thing that they all have in common? The top guys, the elite guys. You’ll find all different play speeds, you’ll find all different sizes but they all had play strength,” he said.

You know when you kind of look at those top guys over the last couple of years look at what Ja Marr Chase came and did into the league, you see Deebo, you see AJ Brown, you see DK Metcalf in the division. These guys are all strong physical guys.”

Cooper Kupp has incredible play strength. And people don’t realise, guy’s like 215-216 pounds! So adding a little bit more strength to that group to complement what you have with the speed guys will be the way for the Cardinals.”
