The Oscars are one of the biggest and most prestigious award ceremonies in the field of cinema. However, for the past few years, the award show wasn’t getting the kind of attention the producers would have liked. Although we get some amount of drama every time, it wasn’t breaking the internet.

The show needed something new and oh boy haven’t they got it. Stars joking about other celebrities is not something new for award shows. Sometimes the jokes are just in bad taste and even the audiences call out the host for crossing the line. However, it is too audacious a thought that someone offended by a joke will go on stage and slap a comedian.

However, this time around, a joke targeted at a star’s wife led to slapping and cursing on live TV. Chris Rock joked about Will Smith’s wife Jada Pinkett Smith. He claimed that he is looking forward to a sequel to “G.I. Jane,” which infuriated Smith.

The Hollywood superstar stood up from his chair, walked up to Chris, and slapped him with all his might. After this, a number of people lashed out at Will for his actions. Stephen A Smith claimed that Will is lucky Rock didn’t retaliate at all, while Shannon Sharpe said that the movie star should have actually shown some anger towards the man with whom his wife cheated on him instead of slapping a comedian.

Joining the list of people reprimanding Smith for his actions, Denver Broncos defensive end Dre’Monte Jones, referring to the time Smith’s wife cheated on him, claimed that he would never defend someone else’s girl like this. “Will better than me I would never defend someone else girl like that,” he Tweeted.
