Ex-49ers RB Frank Gore to retire with team after signing ONE-DAY CONTRACT

Former San Francisco 49ers running back Frank Gore is ready to announce his retirement. One of the most decorated players for the 49ers, Frank Gore announced on Instagram Live that he was ready to hang up his boots now.
The San Francisco 49ers picked up Frank Gore in the third round with the 65th overall pick of the 2005 NFL Draft. His records with the San Francisco 49ers are quite stunning to say the least and he holds the record for the most games played by a running back in the NFL. He had left the 49ers in 2015.
Frank Gore to retire with the San Francisco 49ers

It is quite fitting that Frank Gore has decided to end his career at the place wherein he started. Moreover he’s in the right time to retire as he’s no longer able to play for a long stretch and didn’t feature at all last season.
Gore had said previously as well that he wanted to retire with the San Francisco 49ers. He has planned to sign a one day contract only for the retirement and is already in talks with Jed York to make the necessary requirements.
“Probably in a couple months,” Gore said in an interview with the TheSFNiners. “We’re still trying to figure out when I’m going to do my one-day contract, to sign, do my retirement. I told Jed York that I always wanted to be a Niner, so we’re working on that right now, and then we’re going to also sit down with me and my agent to talk about me working in the front office.
I love looking at talent, and I love evaluating talent, and I love ball. And they know that I know football players, what it’s supposed to take to be a football player.”
