Sticking with the script of the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine, Kalon Barnes delivered in the most appropriate way possible. He absolutely dominated the 40-yard dash.

Kalon Barnes came into the combine all about speed. It’s the one thing he’s best known for. He has it in abundance and knows exactly how to use it. His extremely high top speed is coupled with excellent acceleration allowing him to both stick with receivers downfield but also keep close to the shifter guys underneath.

Kalon Barnes finished his college career with 3 interceptions and 14 pass deflections which may not sound like much but certainly is credible. His areas of weakness are so often masked by his unbelievable speed as he uses it to recover. Of course, covering mistakes only helps for so long and Barnes will have to polish himself up once in the NFL.

So, given how important showing off his speed is, it’s not a surprise that the 40 yard dash was absolutely crucial for Barnes at the combine. With that in mind, he aced it.
