The Dallas Cowboys will continue their Thanksgiving tradition as they play the Washington Commanders on Thursday night. After demolishing the Carolina Panthers, they are back to familiar territory at AT&T Stadium, where they have yet to lose this season, winning all four games by a combined score of 160-50.

On the other hand, the Commanders have struggled massively this season and will be looking to bounce back from a defeat at the hands of the New York Giants. If they record a victory over the Cowboys, it will be their first win against a divisional opponent in 2023.

Being an NFC East rivalry, the game will be extra crucial for both sides to push for a place in the playoffs. Dallas currently sits in the second spot, only behind the Philadelphia Eagles (9-1). Washington is in third with a (4-7) record. Incidentally, the last time these two sides met, the Commanders had a dominant 26-6 win over the Cowboys in January.

Why can the Dallas Cowboys win on Thursday night?

The Dallas Cowboys have the second-best offense, averaging 30.2 points per game in the NFL right now. Dak Prescott has thrown 13 touchdowns in the last 5 games, and judging by a leaky Commanders’ defense that gives up an average of 27.7 points per game, it’s more than likely that he will have chances to increase that. He is second with a 70.1% quarterback rating.

Then there was the return of receiver Brandin Cooks, who tormented the Giants the week before with nine receptions for 172 yards and one touchdown. Not to mention Cowboys No. 1 receiver, CeeDee Lamb, has 40 receptions for more than 500 yards and 4 touchdowns in the last four games.

Why can the Washington Commanders win on Thursday night?

The Commanders don’t have much going for them on the offensive front, besides Sam Howell throwing the most passing yards (3,038) this season. Not only that, he leads the league in completions as well, with 296.

He has had the most 40 completions in games this season, with 7 (2 of them being 50 completed passes). However, he ranks 14th in completion percentage (66.7) and is tied with Josh Allen for the most interceptions thrown (12).
