It was fitting that the best game was saved for the last. The Bills-Chiefs game has to be the best game of the entire game. Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes went toe-to-toe with each other, putting up the most entertaining and nail-biting game. Bills vs Chiefs is the rivalry of the decade.

Buffalo Bills met Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC title game last year, where they were defeated by the Chiefs. The Chiefs crushed the Bills 42-36 in the divisional round game on Sunday night. The Bills could’ve won last night’s game had they won the coin toss.

“I can’t complain about that”: Josh Allen said the Bills would be celebrating if it were the other way around

The Bills were leading the game 36-33 in the fourth quarter and would’ve won the game. However, Patrick Mahomes was handed the ball with 13 seconds left in the game, which apparently turned out to be a big mistake. Mahomes drove the ball 50 yards with 13 seconds in hand and set up a 49-yard field goal attempt for Harrison Butker to kick which leveled the score.

The game then went into overtime. This is where the Bills lost the game. The playoff OT rules are — The extra period begins with a coin toss, with the visiting team choosing whether to kick or return. A 15 minute quarter is played to determine the winner. If the team receiving the ball scores a touchdown on their opening drive, they win the game. If not, the opponent team gets a chance to score a touchdown for the win. This goes on until one team scores a touchdown.

Unfortunately for the Buffalo Bills, they lost the coin toss and the Chiefs received the ball scoring the game-winning touchdown. All Josh Allen could do was watch from the sidelines. Despite not touching the ball, Allen didn’t blame the rules. “The rules are what they are, and I can’t complain about that ‘cause if it was the other way around, we’d be celebrating, too,” he said. “So, it is what it is at this point. We didn’t make enough plays tonight.”

Fans really want the NFL to change the OT rules since it gives an unfair advantage to the team winning the coin toss. Kansas City Chiefs have now advanced to the AFC Championship game for the 4th straight year. The Chiefs will face the Cincinnati Bengals at the Arrowhead Stadium for the final showdown before the Super Bowl.
