“How they’re gonna stop this defensive line?” – DeAngelo Hall breaks down Los Angeles Rams defense that will cause the Bengals nightmares in Super Bowl
Los Angeles Rams and DeAneglo Hall
With Super Bowl LVI upon us, fans in the NFL world are wondering which team emerges victorious. The Bengals have a stellar offense will Joe Burrow leading them along with the best rookie WR in the game, Ja’Maar Chase.
Los Angeles Rams are loaded both offensively and defensively. Matthew Stafford is leading the Rams’ offense with the triple crown receiver Cooper Kupp accompanied by Odell Beckham Jr. The Rams defense will be the dictating factor in Super Bowl because of Aaron Donald, Jalen Ramsey, and Von Miller.
“Jalen Ramsey is greedy” – Hall said he likes CBs that are greedy enough to make plays that win games
Former NFL cornerback, DeAngelo Hall, did a breakdown of the Rams’ defense ahead of the Super Bowl. Hall started off his assessment with star CB Jalen Ramsey. He pointed out that Ramsey keeps his body squared when he is off-coverage. This gives an advantage since he can get out of the break much quicker than if he were already opened up. “Cat like quickness. Gets to the football like ‘uhh not a catch’ “, said Hall.
“He’s in the slot. This is one of the hardest routes to guard”, Hall continued. He said that a lot of defensive backs will keep their eyes on the ball so that they can punch the ball out of the receiver’s hands. “Jalen Ramsey’s greedy. He’s gotta get his eyes around. He wants to play that football in the air. He wants an opportunity to make plays”, Hall added.
“Then you got Von Miller and Aaron Donald. Here we got a little TE stunt right”, Hall said as he was breaking down the Rams defense against the 49ers in the NFC title game. “Aaron Donald’s gonna hit up wrap around but watch Von Miller and this aggressiveness. Von Miller’s not a big dude but so powerful he’s able to walk that guard all the way back makes Jimmy G come out of the pocket.” Hall said that this move by Donald and Miller frees up Jalen Ramsey who’s just waiting to make a play.
“That’s what Raheem Morris has been able to do”, Hall said as he commended the Rams’ defensive coordinator for his brilliant strategy. “He’s been able to find little ways to keep Jalen, Donald, and Von Miller engaged. When you see this game drawn out on paper, you just throw your hands up in the air you’re like – ‘man I don’t know how they’re gonna stop this defensive line.’
Cincinnati Bengals’ offensive line hasn’t done a great job protecting Joe Burrow and providing him with a safe pocket. Burrow has been sacked 51 times this season with 9 sacks coming in the divisional round game. If the Bengals want a shot at winning the Super Bowl, then their offensive line needs to improve so they can stop the beasts of the Rams’ defense.
