Trevon Diggs and Jalen Ramsey
Trevon Diggs had a breakout season this year and earned respect from everyone in the NFL. The Cowboys’ star cornerback finished the 2021 season with a league-leading 11 interceptions.
Jalen Ramsey who is touted to be the best cornerback in the league praised Diggs for his stellar performance on The Pivot Podcast in March. However, the Rams’ All-Pro cornerback hates being compared to the rising youngster from Dallas.
Jalen Ramsey is all praises for the rising CB Trevon Diggs
Jalen Ramsey ranked Top 5 cornerbacks in the league on the podcast along with former NFL safety, Ryan Clark. “If you want high-risk, high-reward, I’m gonna go Trevon [Diggs], J.C. [Jackson], they’re gonna jump all the routes,” the Rams’ star CB said. “I hate it when people compare me and Trevon. We play completely different. Like I always play out of phase. He always plays in-phase.”
Trevon Diggs had a dream season in 2021 when he recorded 11 INTs. However, he did give up more than 1000 yards which some critics thought was not worth the picks. When Ryan Clark highlight that Diggs gave up more than 1000 yards, Ramsey said, “That’s because he always plays in-phase.”
“But he also had 11, 12, maybe 13 picks. He [takes chances]. It’s just a different style of how he plays. If you’re a guy who plays in-phase a lot, you’re gonna have to have a lot of picks. Which he does, though! So it’s working out for him, he’s one of the best at doing that.” That’s high praise coming from one of the most elite CB for Trevon Diggs who’s just in his second year in the league.
Jalen Ramsey is fresh off a Super Bowl victory while Trevon Diggs along with the Cowboys is still licking his wounds from an embarrassing defeat in the Wild Card round against the 49ers. It’ll be a treat to watch two of the best CBs in the league wreak havoc on oppositions offenses in the 2022 season.
