“It was his lifelong dream,” Ian Rappoport reveals primary reason why Davante Adams chose Raiders over the Green Bay Packers

We’re only in the second day of the Free agency in the NFL, but things have already started to shake up during what is considered the offseason, or the dull period during an NFL season. In a shocking trade, Green Bay Packers wide receiver Davante Adams has left the franchise.

Adams will now go onto join the Las Vegas Raiders, where he will meet up with a long-time mate of his from the college days. It’s none other than Raiders quarterback Derek Carr, who used to team up with Adams at Fresno State.

The trade will mean that Davante Adams will not be seen partnering with Aaron Rodgers in the 2022 NFL season, which is not something the Packers fans want to hear, especially after the contract extension rumours earlier.

As a matter of fact, Davante Adams was offered more money on the parts of the Green Bay Packers who wanted to keep him at the franchise, but the 29-year old agreed on a move to the Las Vegas Raiders.

Leading NFL reporter, Ian Rapoport revealed the primary reason for Adams making such a decision, as he felt that it was his lifelong dream to play for the Las Vegas Raiders, and the icing came on top when he received the opportunity to partner up with Derek Carr.

Derek Carr also acknowledged Adams’ trade and left a message for his old mate. The quarterback wrote, “Welcome home, @tae15adams,” tagging Davante Adams’ official Twitter account.

Davante Adams set single-season franchise records for the Packers last season in catches (123) and receiving yards (1,553) and became just the sixth player in league history with 120-plus catches, 1,500-plus yards and 11-plus touchdown catches in the same season.

For Derek Carr too, it would simply mean a great deal and will add to the talented list of wide receivers he has already had the fortune of playing during his career. With both Carr and Adams, in their footballing prime, it gives us great hope that something sensational might transpire when the Las Vegas Raiders play next season.
