“I’m pretty sure my opinion will be valued” Dak Prescott believes he’ll have a say in the Cowboys’ personnel decisions for 2022
Dak Prescott
Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys endured a heartbreaking end to their 2021 campaign. Prescott ran a questionable quarterback draw with no timeouts left and then didn’t have enough time to spike the ball. As such, the Cowboys’ season came to an abrupt end.
While the game came down to the wire, the Cowboys were never really in it. Dak Prescott and his offense couldn’t get anything going until the final few minutes. He and the organization fell under heavy scrutiny as it added to the long list of playoff disappointments since the Cowboys’ last Super Bowl win.
This year more than most, the Cowboys seemed to have a legitimate shot at making the Super Bowl. They had a good offense coupled with a vastly improved defense that knew how to get takeaways. Turnovers in big-time games are often crucial and the Cowboys’ offense was good enough to make teams pay for mistakes.
Nonetheless, the Cowboys failed to win their one playoff game and now look to strengthen their roster in the offseason. Something Dak Prescott believes he will have a say in.
Dak Prescott wants to be involved to ensure the Cowboys get better
Dak Prescott recently did an interview with ‘USA Today’ where he was quoted saying “I think that just depends on whether they ask me. I’m not going in and knocking on doors saying, ‘Hey, I want this done, I want that done.’ But, I’m pretty sure that my opinion will be valued in certain decisions.”
Prescott also added, “I just plan on helping this team get better in every which way I can.”
The Cowboys will look to improve on their already good defense from last season and can do so in free agency. However, Prescott will obviously have a bigger say in what the team does in terms of offensive personnel.
Dak Prescott is most likely to be concerned about what happens in his wide receiver room. With the cap issues of Amari Cooper and the possibility of losing Michael Gallup and Cedrick Wilson in free agency, he would love to have a say in how the team deals with those players and possibly even replacements.
