“Didn’t want to take phone with him to urinal,” NFL Insider reveals GRUESOME lifestyle of Adrian Wojnarowski causing retirement

Now former NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski retired from ESPN to leave the hectic life

The NBA world had one notification on at all times. That was for any new messages or updates from ESPN’s lead NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski. But as basketball fans head into the next season, they won’t hear from the 55-year-old anymore. He decided it was time to leave it all and go back to living his life. Colleague and NFL Insider Adam Schefter recently explained why he wanted that life back.

Schefter was among a panel of other ESPN’s top Insiders talking about Adrian Wojnarowski‘s impact on the industry. While detailing what he knows, Schefter had quite the explanation.

He wanted his life back. He didn't want to have to work on holidays, he didn't want to be away from more family gatherings. He didn't want to take a shower with your phone up against the shower door so you can see a text that's coming in or take your phone with you to the urinal and hold it in one hand while you take care of your business in the other. That's the life that we live. He was done living the job.

Adam Schefter essentially outlined the gruesome lifestyle his now-former colleague used to live, as he lives a similar life as the top NFL Insider. ‘Woj’ as the former NBA Insider was affectionately nicknamed, was always on top of all breaking news developing in the basketball world. But to be that quick and beat out other competing reporters, one has to be on their phones all the time.

Schefter’s words indicate their phones become a part of themselves. Becoming so important that it is alongside them at all times. Adrian Wojnarowski wanted his life back. For that, he had to give up his life and had his phone tied to him at all times.

LeBron James outlasts Adrian Wojnarowski in NBA

Adam Schefter also spoke about his colleague on ESPN’s SportsCenter. When talking about his accomplishments, Schefter added a few more words with a touch of hilarity.

I am so happy for him, doing exactly what it is that he wants to do. I will miss him. It’s hard for me to imagine that LeBron James outlasted Woj in the NBA. But that’s what’s happened here.

Adam Schefter added

Adrian Wojnarowski worked as an NBA Insider for 14 years out of his 37 years as a reporter. But LeBron James still continuing to play basketball in the NBA while the 55-year-old retiring is something no one could have imagined.

Besides, it shows that ‘Woj’ preferred to leave his hectic life and focus on what was closer to his heart. He took up the job of becoming the GM of the men’s basketball team at St. Bonaventure University. Working for his alma mater seems to be the life that he wants to live now.

As Wojnarowski said in his retirement tweet, he wanted his personal life back. In the much calmer surroundings of his hometown and his alma mater, that will be much easier to accomplish than in the hectic world of reporting.
