The 2023 NFL offseason has already seen plenty of action with franchises splashing the cash to get hold of the players they want or tie them down for longer periods with record-breaking contract extensions. One of the franchises involved in making the most talked about deals has been the Baltimore Ravens, and it seems they might not be done yet.
Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver, Antonio Brown dropped a major hint of him possibly making a return to the NFL this season with the Baltimore Ravens. He took to his official Twitter account to post picture of himself showing his excitement, whilst being dressed up in a Ravens jersey.
The picture might have been photoshopped, but the caption was enough to give away his intentions of wanting to join the Ravens. He wrote, “Excited to return to the NFL this year #RavensFlock.”
Antonio Brown hinted at making a return to the NFL
The 34-year-old has been out of action from the league since his unprecedented outburst on the pitch during his time at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Brown exited the gridiron after taking off all his jersey, and sporting gear against the New York Jets, following which the franchise tore up his contract.
Since then he has kept himself relevant in the NFL primarily through his antics on social media making scathing comments and posts about fellow footballers. All of it hinted towards him not wanting to make a return to the gridiron anytime soon, however, all those theories are being reconsidered after his latest tweet.
If the tweet is looked at from a purely sporting perspective, Brown joining the Ravens doesn’t look viable at all, especially because of the troublesome reputation that is associated with him.
The Ravens have already signed wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr earlier this offseason and drafted Zay Flowers to partner up with quarterback Lamar Jackson. According to various reports, they are also interested in acquiring the services of DeAndre Hopkins from the Arizona Cardinals.
Therefore, it seems highly improbable that the tweet from Antonio Brown carries with it much sense, very much like most of his tweets lately.
