The 36-year-old is known for his aggressive fighting style and knockout power, with many of his victories coming by way of knockout or TKO. However, his life would have been completely different if he would have pursued the NFL instead of the UFC. Anders was a competent linebacker and had a decent future in the league.

He played college football for the University of Alabama, where he was a member of the Crimson Tide football team. Anders had a successful collegiate football career as a linebacker and was part of the Alabama team that won the national championship in 2009.

However, Anders couldn’t replicate the same in the NFL and left without playing a single game for the Browns. Following that, Anders also had numerous stints in the Canadian Football League and the Arena Football League before eventually pursuing mixed martial arts.

Eryk Anders lost to Marc-Andre Barriault in an exhilarating fight

UFC 289 was not favorable for Eryk Anders who has been a staple of the middleweight division. The 36-year-old has been fighting in the UFC for a decent time now.

He has a standing record of 15-8-0, which makes him a pretty decent fighter. However, Anders didn’t have the best of days when he lost to Marc-Andre Barriault during UFC 289.

Marc-Andre has been on a roll in UFC and has won four of his last six fights. On the other hand, Anders has failed massively to build consistency and momentum in the UFC, which is highly essential for a title fight.

Eryk Anders will hope to start a winning streak as soon as possible. His record is getting worse after each fight and the former NFL linebacker will have to pull out something extraordinary to change that.
