One such promising talent is Ahmad Gardner, aka Sauce Gardner. Born on August 31, 2000, Sauce attended Martin Luther King in Detroit, Michigan, and showcased his talent as a cornerback and wide receiver. The 6 feet 3 inches tall footballer weighing 91 kgs was actually given the name ‘Sauce’ by his coach.

His affinity for dipping sauces at the age of 6 made his coach give him the nickname ‘Sauce.’ “Growing up in Detroit, didn’t really have anything,” Sauce said as reported by mlive.com. “What I did have was a mother who always made the impossible possible,” he had said.

Sauce claimed that earlier, his family’s financial condition wasn’t great but his mother eventually supported him and made him what he is today. “It’s a blessing, man,” Gardner said. “I don’t have anyone in my family that went through what I’m going through, so this is my first time experiencing it, and my parents’ first time, and the rest of my family experiencing it. My mom, she’s real humble, but I know when that day comes, she’s going to be very emotional,” he had claimed.

Sauce will be targeted by many franchises in the upcoming draft as the numbers reported by him are just astonishing. He has played 1,059 snaps in coverage without allowing even a single touchdown in his career. Goes without saying, he is now being considered a favorite for a first-round draft pick.

“I don’t have plans of giving one up in the NFL,” Sauce recently claimed which shows that the boy is high on confidence and ready for the big stage. It’ll be interesting to see which franchise eventually ends up roping him in.
