Despite showering his girlfriend Taylor Swift with several expensive gifts, Travis Kelce is reportedly in debt. It appears that the Kansas City Chiefs All-Pro tight with all the achievements in his NFL career can’t seem to keep himself in check.

From dining in extravagant restaurants to traveling via private jets and sending expensive gifts on Valentine’s Day, Kelce left no stone unturned to impress his pop star beau.

However, as per In Touch, the 34-year-old seems to be a loose canon when it comes to keeping tabs on his taxes, to which he owes nearly $100,000 million to the state of Ohio.

Katherine Schaffstall of In Touch reported that Kelce has a state tax lien from Ohio for $64,198 from 2018, along with $46,579 from 2017 and another from 2018 for $909. On top of that, the three-time Super Bowl winner has been involved in six known vehicular-related criminal activities since 2011.

Kelce once gave a small example of his reckless spending spree while appearing on Shannon Sharpe’s podcast, Club Shay Shay. He blew off all his money and almost went broke.

Man, I spent it all. I should’ve been on the ’30 for 30: Broke’ the way I was spending! Man I was walking in this empty apartment with some Marty McFly's on and a Rolex.
Kelce told Sharpe.

Travis Kelce’s earnings

The Kansas City Chiefs drafted Travis Kelce in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft. Since then, he has earned millions. Spotrac keeps track of his career earnings.

Kelce’s signed a contract extension of $47.25 million back in 2020 with the Chiefs. Although he is only the fourth highest-earning TE in the league (Darren Waller of the New York Giants tops the chart), it should be more than enough to cover most of his requirements. Under the contract, he will earn $12 million in base salary in 2024 and $16.3 million in base salary in 2025.

Outside of football, he makes a sweet chunk of money through his New Heights podcast with brother Jason Kelce. In an episode, he revealed that the show was worth $2 million, and since the Taylor Swift effect hit, their popularity has skyrocketed. So it won’t be surprising that the podcast’s value has risen in the meantime.

Moreover, Travis also delved into the world of commercials, as most famous footballers often do. He appeared in ads for several high-profile brands like Nike, Amazon, L’Homme, Helzberg Diamonds, Pfizer, and more. Overall, his net worth is between $30 and $40 million.
