“It’s a good decision,” Patrick Mahomes passes his judgement on the newly modified NFL OT rules

The NFL committee recently made a massive decision to finally bring in a change in the Over-Time rules. The rule came under severe criticism plenty of times during the past couple of years with both teams not getting a fair chance of winning it at the end.
However, with the change in the rule both teams will get possession of the ball only during the postseason matches. The previous rule which allows the team with the first possession to win if it scores a touchdown, will remain unchanged.
Patrick Mahomes has been on the both sides of the coin toss in previous playoff seasons

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, had a couple of matches where he encountered overtime during the course of the last season. Having encountered both sides, where his side won the coin toss, he was a bit on the edge while giving his judgement on the modified rule.
“Your job is to find a way to win the game, no matter how long it takes,” Mahomes told Yahoo Finance.
“I’m sure there’ll be moments where you feel like it’s a good decision,” said Mahomes. “But then there will be moments when you score that touchdown first and you feel like it’s a bad one. So you just go out there and play and try to win the game whatever way.”

Patrick Mahomes maintained that despite the change in rule the sides still needed to play well in order to win the match for their sides. The quarterback felt that the decision will feel like a good one on some occasions but not always, if teams fail to protect their lead after having scored a touchdown first.
Recently, Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin too seemed to be on the fence while speaking on the modified Over-Time rules.
