“Your conduct is inexcusable”: Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shad Khan publicly reprimands Urban Meyer after scandalous video leak

Shad Khan and Urban Meyer

Urban Meyer is a name to reckon with in the world of American football. He has achieved a lot in his illustrious career, however, the current head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars of the National Football League (NFL) has been in the limelight for all the wrong reasons lately.

Urban’s team has delivered back-to-back below-par performances, and in addition to that, a scandalous video of the Jaguars coach that went viral a little while ago has added insult to injury. In the viral video, a man who appears to be like Meyers was seen getting danced on at a bar with an unknown woman.

Apparently, this did not go down well with Shad Khan who is the owner of Jacksonville Jaguars. Shad publically reprimanded Meyer and said, “his conduct last week was inexcusable.” However, he also added that he appreciates Urban’s remorse which he thinks is sincere.

Now, he must gain our trust and respect. That will require personal commitment from Urban to everyone who supports, represents or plays for our team. I am confident he will deliver,” Shad further added. A day ago, Meyer had apologized to his family and Jacksonville Jaguars for his actions.

Taking responsibility for what had occurred, Meyer had said, “I just apologized to the team and staff for being a distraction,” Meyer said. “Just stupid, and so I explained everything that happened and owned it. Just stupid. Should not have myself in that kind of position.”

With the Jaguars struggling to perform as per expectations and the latest video controversy making headlines, it would be fair to say that Urban’s contract with the Jaguars might be in jeopardy unless he guides his side to a few much-needed wins.
