“I m tryna play the saints”- Fans go into Frenzy after a cryptic message from Ja’Marr Chase

Ja'Marr Chase

It was a match made in heaven when the Cincinnati Bengals selected LSU wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase fifth overall in the 2021 NFL draft. Bengals QB Joe Burrow was teammates with Chase back at LSU and they had a special bond that reflected on the field which prompted Cincinnati to draft the star receiver.

There was absolutely no doubt in everyone’s mind that Chase would dominate the wide receiver stats. The fact that he would do so in his rookie year itself astonished the entire NFL world.

Ja’Marr Chase started showing his unmatched skills right off the bat. Chase and Burrow made up for the Bengals’ poor O-line and kept the hopes of Cincinnati reaching the Super Bowl alive. The 22-year-old made the most impact as a rookie receiver as he set the rookie and franchise records for single-year and single-game receiving yards and went on to win the Offensive Rookie Player of the Year.

The Bengals, unfortunately, lost Super Bowl LVI to the might Rams but Chase shined bright as ever as he caught 5 passes for 89 yards. Bengals fans have argued that Cincinnati would’ve won the Super Bowl if not for their abysmal O-line that failed to provide a clean pocket for Joe Burrow who could’ve slung the ball down the field to an open Chase that ultimately would’ve resulted in a touchdown.

Too bad that didn’t happen. The Bengals had vowed to learn from the journey rather than forcing on their Super Bowl loss. Looking to bounce back harder in the 2022 season, Ja’Marr Chase recently wrote a rather cryptic tweet that had fans scratching their heads. “i’m tryna play the saints ima city!,” the star tweeted.

Chase was born in Lousiana and played college football at Louisana State University. The tweet probably was a nod to the Bengals vs Saints game to be played in 2022. The last time these two teams faced each other was way back in 2018 and the Bengals suffered a rather huge loss. The Saints crushed the Bengals 51-14. Chase is probably looking for payback against the team that’s from his home city.
