The Cleveland Browns had a rather forgettable 2021 season. They finished third on the AFC North points table and failed to make their way to the playoffs. One man who particularly had a disastrous season for the Browns was Baker Mayfield.
Baker failed to find his rhythm and was caught off-guard by even mediocre defenses. As a result, he was trolled mercilessly and speculations started arising that the Browns might want to release him. Moreover, as soon as the Browns met Deshaun, it was clear that Baker’s time with the franchise was coming to an end.

Baker himself requested a trade and posted a lengthy thank-you note on Twitter. Although there was a little uncertainty about Baker’s release after Deshaun refused to join the Browns, however, after Watson changed his mind and agreed to come to Cleveland, it is now crystal clear that Baker will exit the franchise.
Talking about what lies ahead for Baker Mayfield, James Jones had a few things to say on ‘Upto The Minute.’ “This is going to get complicated for Baker as there are still good quarterbacks out there. We still have Matty Ice, we still have Jimmy G who possibly can get possibly get traded,” he said.
“All the teams that are looking for a quarterback I don’t think he is an upgrade from the position they have already. I don’t think Baker Mayfield is better than Jimmy Garoppolo or Matty Ice so is he better than what they already have in the locker room, I don’t think so,” Jones claimed.
Indeed, Baker had a terrible season last time around, and looking at the players already available for trade, it will be interesting to see where Baker finally ends up.
