“Not at all”: Jerry Jones gets real on potential regrets over massive Dak Prescott contract

Dak Prescott and Jerry Jones
Dak Prescott is a name to reckon with in the world of the NFL. However, when Jerry Jones’ Cowboys gave Dak Prescott a massive four-year, $160 million contract in the 2021 offseason, many were left unimpressed. Although Dak is incredible, he still had a lot to prove to justify the price tag.
Giving him as much as $126 million in guaranteed money was being regarded as a rather bad move by the franchise. Moreover, it would be fair to say that Dak was far from his best during the 2021 season in which the Cowboys weren’t able to go any further than the wild card round.
“He has evolved”: Jerry Jones reflects on Dak Prescott deal

Recently, Jones was asked if he has any regrets at all about giving such a massive contract to someone like Prescott. From Jones’ body language, it sure did feel like the Cowboys are still very happy with their call. “When I look at what has happened since we’ve done (Dak’s) contract, the reps, the way Dak has evolved, what we’re doing in here to look for players to complement what he does the best,” Jones said in an interview with Jori Epstein of USA Today.
“That’s who, in my mind, we’re complementing whether we’re blocking them out, whether we’re basically trying to get him some field position. So yes, we’re glad we got him,” he stated. Jerry also talked about Deshaun Watson’s blockbuster contract with the Browns.
“Deshaun’s contract was a big one. Just reinforces that it just takes one or two teams to really covet a player and they really get those numbers on up there,” Jones added. It will be interesting to see if Dak can guide the Cowboys to the Super Bowl in the coming season.
