Talking about Rodgers’ deal with the Packers, Rich Eisen and Joe Banner had an interesting chat during the latest edition of the Rich Eisen Show. Rich claimed that Andrew Brandt thinks Rodgers is making only year to year commitment to Green Bay and vice versa and asked Joe Banner about his take on the issue. In reply, Joe claimed, “I don’t think that will be the case, that’ll be my guess. I don’t think it is going to be like the story we have been reading about.”

There’ll be at least a couple of years with a guarantee that he’ll be there. However, I don’t think it is going to be a four-year extension. They may do that to look good and create a number that excites Rodgers and his agent and make big headlines,” he claimed.

I think at this point that he is going to finish his career at Green Bay,” he claimed. On this Rich added that a two-year commitment makes sense. Joe also stated that Green Bay did the right thing by keeping Rodgers in the side as “it makes no sense to let go of him as long as he is functioning.”

Joe went on to add that Green Bay has done consistently well over the past couple of years and a lot will depend on Rodgers if they have to win the Super Bowl this season.
