Joe Nixon was arrested for allegedly punching a woman

Joe Mixon was once charged for allegedly punching a woman, named Amelia Molitor at a restaurant in 2014. However, it was not his girlfriend. In a later surveillance video, Mixon was seen punching a woman after the woman slapped and punched him.

Mixon was then a sophomore running back for the Oklahoma Sooners. During a police interrogation, Mixon claimed Molitor had provoked him by blowing smoke in his face and using a racial slur. Mixon described the punch as feeling like it was delivered by a man.

Joe Mixon told CNN

He accepted a plea deal, receiving a one-year deferred sentence, 100 hours of community service, counseling, and fines. The University of Oklahoma suspended Mixon for the 2014 season, and he later returned to play.
