Joel McHale is depressed after Russell Wilson’s trade

Comedian Joel McHale has taken Russell Wilson’s departure pretty hard. McHale spoke with TMZ Sports after Wilson joined with the Denver Broncos and he was extremely sad about Wilson going away.
Joel McHale admitted that he didn’t expect Russell Wilson will actually leave the Seattle Seahawks. He always believed that wasn’t a possibility. However, he admits he was just shocked as the next Seahawks fan.
“I’m just as surprised as you are,” McHale said. “I thought he was staying. Clearly, I was wrong. That was shocking news. He’s one of the best ever. He’s a unicorn.”
In fact, Joel McHale was so confident that Wilson would be staying, he even proposed that the Seattle Seahawks erect a statue in his honour. Hence it’s understandable right now that he is shocked and sad with his trade.
“He’s a very rare athlete,” McHale said earlier. “We’re perfectly good with Russell Wilson. I want Russell Wilson. They’re going to erect statues to him in Seattle. You’ll see.”
