“It gives you the motivation heading into offseason,” Justin Herbert takes inspiration from the Super Bowl encounter between Rams and Bengals

Justin Herbert has had a meteoric rise to the top of the NFL ever since being picked up by the Los Angeles Chargers in the 2020 draft. He has already won plenty of accolades during his short career and is definitely one of the hottest prospects going around the NFL.

However, despite his heroics, he has failed to take the Los Angeles Chargers into the biggest game of the season, the Super Bowl something he would have ideally liked to do. They failed to qualify for the postseason after they finished third in the AFC division with a 9-8 record.

That is something that Justin Herbert desperately wants to change in the coming season and it was evident during his recent interview with Pro Football Talk during the Super Bowl week.

Justin Herbert was asked whether the Los Angeles Rams playing the Super Bowl, motivates him to do the same next year because the two franchises share the same stadium, and it will be hosting the Super Bowl this year.

“Do you get motivation from seeing that the Rams, the team you share a stadium with is here(Super Bowl)? Does that give you an extra kick to see that between that and Joe Burrow who was drafted as the same year as you were obviously, does that give you extra impetus” asked the interviewer on NBC’s Pro Football talk show?

Justin Herbert responded in the positive saying, “Oh it totally does, and to see the Rams and the Cincinnati Bengals, you know a team that we’ve played in the regular season as the Chiefs as well. You know it does give you that motivation heading into the offseason and you want to get back to weight lifting, to meetings to throwing because you want to be there. Without football, you don’t have a whole lot going on. So yeah I’m excited to get back to this offseason with our guys, our teammates, so we can put ourselves in a position to be here later.”
